Rockcorry Community Development Association (RCDA), is supporting residents and community groups in their quest to have an improved bus service between Monaghan and Cavan, through Cootehill. The existing service is provided by Bus Eireann, route 175.
Are you happy with this service as it currently exists? Could it be improved to include more pick-up and drop-off points in the towns of Cavan and Monaghan? For example, should more stops be added at both ends of the route at Town Centres, Hospitals, Health Centres, Nursing Homes, Forest & Recreational Parks and Educational Institutes, etc.? Would these additions make the use of the service more attractive by reducing your journey on foot, either at the start of your journey or when you reach your destination? Likewise, could the service be improved to include more pick-up and drop-off points along the route, for example, in places like Drumbear Woods, Dartrey and other locations close to you where there is no current pick-up or drop-off? Is there a need for more bus shelters along the route? Are you happy with the fares compared with other routes? Should a Local Link Bus service be allowed to operate on this route at certain times during the day instead of the service being solely provided by Bus Eireann? Would this allow for greater flexibility regarding pick-up and drop-off points in the towns of Monaghan and Cavan?
